About Me
Pronouns (she/her)
Growing up in Los Angeles as a first-generation Chinese and Vietnamese American, I experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating multiple cultures. My parents, like many immigrants, faced significant hurdles—learning a new language, securing employment, and finding a sense of belonging. Witnessing their struggles, along with my own journey of balancing heritage and assimilation, deepened my understanding of cultural transitions, intergenerational differences, and the emotional impact they can have.
Like many in similar situations, I often felt caught between two worlds—wanting to honor my roots while also fitting into my surroundings. These experiences instilled in me a deep passion for helping others facing similar challenges, particularly in understanding the importance of support, healing, and self-acceptance.
With almost a decade of experience as a therapist, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in supporting Asian American individuals and families through culturally nuanced struggles such as communication barriers, intergenerational conflicts, and mental health concerns. I also work with clients from all walks of life, helping them navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from UC Riverside and went on to complete my Master of Social Work at the University of Southern California. My approach is rooted in cultural sensitivity, deep understanding, and compassion. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and personal challenges.
Therapy is often stigmatized, but seeking help is an act of strength. Healing is a journey, and you don’t have to go through it alone. If you’re ready to take the next step toward personal growth and well-being, I invite you to reach out. I am here to support you with warmth, empathy, and evidence-based care every step of the way.
Additional Experiences
My experience spans a variety of settings, including community-based clinics, primary care facilities, nonprofit agencies, and field-based services. I have had the privilege of supporting individuals of all ages—young children, foster youth, adolescents, and adults—helping them navigate life’s challenges with care and compassion. I have extensive experience working with low-income and immigrant communities, particularly within Asian American populations and foster youth, as well as English-speaking and monolingual Vietnamese adults. My approach is rooted in cultural awareness and sensitivity, ensuring that each client receives support tailored to their unique background and experiences. Beyond therapy, my work has included comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, targeted case management, treatment planning, medication support coordination, and referrals to essential community resources. I have also provided culturally informed clinical consultations in settings such as community centers, hospitals, and clinics. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with interdisciplinary teams—including family members, teachers, doctors, and public service workers—to provide holistic, integrated care that addresses both mental health and overall well-being. My goal is to create a supportive and inclusive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered on their healing journey.
